Here's the little bit of info I’ve been able to gather.  On Jan 16 '69 a YFU # 62 went around the LCM 6's mine sweeps & hit a mine & sank killing all on board.

I think there were 8 on board but I could only find 6 names. Francis Duncan Campbell EN2, Kenneth Murel Russell C2 2, Edward E. Stockwell FN, David lee Holdrege SM 2, Erik Niles Rudziak FN, Milton Jerry Worrall SN.  All listed as hostile ground causality other explosive device.  That incident happened just before I arrived in Cua Viet.

A sapper blew up one of the LCM6's on Feb 21 '69 killing George Donald Tinko SN, one of my guys.

So I arrived in Cua Viet between Jan & Feb of '69 & stayed there until I rotated back to the world in Oct '69. I was a BM3 & was the bo'sun of the #26 boat. Crewed her until our LPO rotated out then took his job. So was off the river for a while until a BM2 came to take over as LPO.

When I got there no one except me could splice wire, so it was my job to teach all the boat captains to splice wire, so if their boat lost a chain drag they could replace it.  Next is a list of guys whom were there little before, during & after me. & their contact info {I’ll write if the contact is good}.
