Spring Reunion 2014

 

     What a great time! Ten LCPL members and six of our ladies met at the Q Hotel & Spa in Kansas City, MO April 26-30. Many stories and laughter and tears were shared. We looked through old pictures, many which were scanned and labled for this site. No one wanted to have the time end. So great that it ended on such a wonderful high note.

 

     April 30th we said "See you soon, brother." and sent most on their way. Mike and Sue stayed to visit with family before returning to Oklahoma while Dave, Kim, Pat, Lisa & I tried to kill a litte more time before their flight. We all voted for Pie. The desk clerk sent us to The Upper Crust, just a few blocks down from the hotel. While they didn't have pie that day they were very accommodating to help us find, in their words, "A little dive." called The Town Topic.

 

     The diner was GREAT!!! Standing room only but wonderful staff and diners and, of course, Pie!  The owner Stan Sparks heard our conversation with a couple of his diners and chatted with us till we had to leave. He even made sure we had plenty of pie for the road.

 

     Soon I recieved a note from Lynn Sparks via this site. She was very interested in our story and wanted to share our story on their Facebook page & their website. Since Memorial Day, more than 1100 people have heard our story. All from the sharing of Pie!
